CONGRATULATIONS TO ROOKS HEATH CLASS OF 2024 ON A TREMENDOUS SET OF A LEVEL & BTEC RESULTS

Year 13 students at Rooks Heath School have met our expectations with an excellent set of exam results. 42% of A level examinations were awarded the top A*- B grades and over 80% of students achieved Distinction*, Distinction or Merit grades on our Level 3 vocational programmes. With 97% pass rate A*- E and Distinction* - Pass with vocational grades our students should be very proud of their achievements.

As a result, many of our students have been accepted at various universities including those deemed the most prestigious Russell Group universities including the University of Oxford, King’s College (London) and the University of Birmingham to read a wide range of subjects including Classics, Clinical Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Economics, Psychology, Fine Art, History and Politics and Computer Animation. The range of subjects exemplifies not only the broad range of our curriculum, but the wide range of student interests at Rooks Heath School.

Special congratulations go to Faris who achieved A* A* A*, Shlok who achieved A*A B, Fatima who achieved A B B and Ruween who achieved A A B, and to Samay who achieved Distinction *Distinction and a C grade at A level. We were also especially pleased to hear that our students were accepted onto degree apprenticeships with prestigious employers with some students being in the enviable position as having to choose between PWC and HSBC.

What struck us this year was how decided each student was about their next steps. There were thanks to our careers advisor and all the teachers about the guidance given a testament to how Rooks Heath provides advice and guidance continually throughout the year and right to the very end. Students all commented on how happy they were with their results and how excited they are to be starting their degree or degree apprenticeships. Many took the time to state how much they enjoyed their time at Rooks Heath School saying these have been some of the best years of their life and one student volunteered to share his story with incoming Year 7 parents.

Mrs Manderson, Headteacher, said, “We are once again extremely proud of the excellent achievement and progress made by all of our students. We work closely together as a community of staff, students and parents to support every one of our students to meet their aspirational goals. Our students inspire us to continually improve, and we strive to be our best to secure continued academic success. It is a real pleasure to work with such talented and dedicated staff who have created a vibrant and stimulating learning environment for our students”.

Mr Wright, Head of Sixth, said “Once again, I feel immensely proud of the resilience and commitment shown by our year 13 students. They have performed admirably, many in the face of adversity, and I am delighted that so many of them achieved the grades required for them to successfully continue to the next stage of their learning whether that is at university or on a degree apprenticeship”.
