We have an Internal Quality Assurance process and we will also have our work moderated externally by Exam Boards. Our Quality Assurance process is as follows: 

• Grades will be based on a range of evidence using exam board grade descriptors. 
• All qualifications will have their work moderated and standardised by another member of staff and checked by a member of the Senior Leadership Team. 
• All teaching staff who are involved in designating Teacher Assessed Grades have been given training on unconscious bias training and how to award grades fairly. 
• There will be a series of checks for human error after the Teacher Assessed Grades are inputted. 

As grades are based on the evidence of students’ work, it would be malpractice for students to attempt to change or find out their grade from their teachers.  

Students will be able to appeal to the school after Results Day if they think an error has been made in the awarding of their qualification grade. 

To get onto our A level course at Rooks Heath students need a minimum of six grade 5s at GCSE including English Language and Maths. To get onto our BTEC course at Rooks Heath students need a minimum of five grade 4s including English Language or Maths. If you do not meet the requirements for the A level courses, then you may be take up BTEC courses subject to availability. If you do not meet the requirements for BTEC, you will need to leave Rooks Heath to attend another suitable course at colleges. To help you with this we offer support and guidance including access to a Careers Adviser in school on Results Day. 

There will be advice available on results day from the Sixth Form Team about UCAS Clearing.
